PETE HENRY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP The Pete Henry Foundation would like to announce their scholarship. In 2011, $240,000 was awarded to Seniors in Northwest Kansas. You must designate by application whether you will be attending a technical college or a community college or university. Pick up an application from Nancy as soon as possible. This scholarship is not based on high GPA but need. Deadline is March 1, 2012.


SENIORS!! THE LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP LIST IS READY The Local Scholarship List is ready, up and going. You may obtain a copy for yourself by going to the USD 352 Website. Nancy will answer any questions that you might have. After Christmas break I will have an AP time to answer any questions.


PLAN TEST IS IN If you the PLAN test the results are in. Please pick them up from Mrs. Farris/Partida.


College Options with Northwest Tech If you are a Junior and thinking about the college option at Northwest-we need to know. There will be a sign up sheet in the Counselor's Office. Deadline to sign up will be Thursday, January 12th. The actual shadowing will be held either January 24 or the 25th. Any questions please see Mr. Hubka or Nancy


Taking Dual Credit Classes NWKTC DUAL CREDIT—ACT or COMPASS SCORES— Any student who wants to take the dual credit College Algebra next year, needs to have a 22 or above on the math portion of the ACT test AND an 18 or above on the reading portion of the ACT. Students who are in Geometry and Algebra 2 this year, need to be taking the ACT test to try to attain these scores if you want to take the class for dual credit. The next deadline to sign up for the ACT is Friday, January 13. The test is Feb. 11.


Midwest Energy- Youth Tour Midwest Energy is looking for 5 students interested in an all-expense paid educational trip to Washington D.C. June 14-21, 2012. The 5 students selected will join 1,500 others from across the country for the Government In Action Youth Tour. Students must be juniors in High School and their parents must receive electric or natural gas service from Midwest Energy. Applications may be obtained at www.mwenergy.com. Perspective applicants should fill out the application and return it to Midwest Energy by March 12, 2012. Mrs. Farris/Partida also will have applications available.


Black Hills Energy Scholarship Black Hills Energy will be awarding approximately 15 scholarships of $1,000 each to Kansas students whose parents are customers of the company. Requirements: Must plan to attend an accredited college or university to obtain a bachelor's or plan to attend a 2 year institution and then plan to ACT and applicants parent or guardian must be a customer of Black Hills Energy. Applications can be downloaded from www.blackhillsenergy.com/scholarships on or after Feb. 1, 2012


Northwest Tech Senior Options Applications If you shadowed at the Tech college and still interested in Senior Options you will need to fill out an application. Applications are due to Mrs. Farris/Partida no later than Mach 30, 2012. Pick up an application in the Counselor's Office.


High Plains Chapter American Meteorological Society Scholarship To apply you must provide proof that you have been accepted into a college with a physical science major, and a one page essay. Deadline for scholarship is April 1, 2012. To get an application go to http://www.highplains-amsnwa.org.


Applications for Northwest Tech If you picked up a packet for an application, please see Nancy as she gave you the wrong recommendation sheets. I will leave the correct recommendation sheets on the table in my outer office.
